In a nutshell, that describes the Pipers' 3-0 non-conference win over the Yellowjackets Tuesday at TRIA Rink. Bre Simon started work on her second century of points with a pair of goals and Molly Garin had the other tally.
Hulslander took it from there with a 25 save shutout as the Pipers improved to 8-1 overall.
The first period was even in shots on goal -- each team took 13. Hamline, however, went to the locker room with a 2-0 lead. Garin opened the scoring, taking a pass from Becca Zarembinski and neatly tucking a shots upstairs at 3:22.. Six minutes later, Simon did likewise, finishing off a three-way play with Jordan Hansen and Dani Perry.
The Pipers had a power play to start the second period and took advantage with Simon's second of the night off feeds from Perry and Leah Schwartzman. HU carried the play the entire period with a 21-2 edge in shots on goal but there was no more scoring.
Hulslander was tested 10 times in the third period but kept the Yellowjackets at bay to earn the shutout, her first this season and second of her college career.
Hamline, rated No. 7 in the d3hockey,com poll, has one game left on the 2018 portion of the calendar: Monday, December 10 against Wis-Eau Claire. Game time at TRIA Rink is 7:00 p.m.
